I just photographed Amanda and her family at Poplar Grove Plantation and now that their newest member had finally arrived, I headed out to their house to meet him. For newborn shoots, I find it's easiest to work in the client's home. Mom's have enough to think about, it's much easier for me to come to them.
I like to start off with the eyes and feet, the cutest pieces of baby.
Babies need their mom's and having Amanda hold him let me capture all his little faces, even the crying ones. So much character in every moment.
They had a canvas that had his first and middle name on it so I made use of it. Just another advantage of coming to the clients home. It gives me a chance to find things to use that they may not have thought about bringing to a studio environment.
After a couple of feeding breaks, he was totally passed out. Look at the those cute little wrinkles!
One more feeding break and he was out again. (Side note: I do like to capture feeding sessions. Of course, I don't share them on this blog but I like to get that for mom. It's such a bonding moment for mom and baby and something you'll want to remember forever.)
Since he was born in October, we just had to get out the pumpkin hat ;)
Welcome to the world Kellen!
