Meggan and Peter's Wrightsville Beach Engagement Shoot

Meggan and Peter contacted me to take their engagement photos and mentioned that they wanted to bring their dog.  Yes please! I love dogs.  I was sure to pack my loudest squeaky toy(works for dogs and babies).  They brought a friend to keep the dog company while we got some other shots.  Whenever a baby or a dog is involved, we start with their photos first.  Dogs and babies can both get bored quickly.

I wanted to use 2 locations on Wrightsville beach so we got a few more by the pier before we headed down to the south end.  The shot with the chalkboard has to be one of my favorite save the date photos yet.  Meggan has excellent handwriting!  Maybe it's just me but it can take me 4 or 5 tries to come up numbers that perfect.  Sometimes I'd rather let Photoshop fill them in.

The hearts were an extra special touch.

I always like to get lots of ring close-ups in a variety of ways so throughout the shoot I worked them in with all of the backgrounds we had from the pier to the dunes, even a fence post.

After a quick outfit change, we headed to the south end.  The sand dune fences are wonderful props to work with.  As our my scrabble pieces, which worked out well with another ring close-up.

As the time for sunset got closer, we worked our way through the dunes to the intracoastal side.  Since it's on the west side, you can actually get a view of the sun setting, well, when the clouds aren't in the way.  But every sunset is unique, just like every shoot.

As we headed back to the our cars, we came across my favorite spot, nestled in the dunes with the prettiest grasses.  They frame every portrait beautifully and this shot will stay in my portfolio for a long time.
